Rajoub: Massive Palestinian popular movements against the annexation scheme

The Secretary of the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, Major General Gabriel Rajoub, announced today (Thursday) the launch of broad Palestinian popular movements against the annexation scheme.

Rajoub said in a radio interview: The first popular movements will begin with a central event next Monday with mass demonstrations in all areas of the West Bank.

Rajoub explained that the main demonstration in Ramallah will take place with the participation of members of the diplomatic corps of the Palestinian Authority, confirming Arab and international support for the Palestinian position rejecting the annexation scheme.

Rajoub said that a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, for the central committee of the Fatah movement, headed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss a major clause related to mechanisms to escalate the popular movement to confront the annexation scheme.

He said: "We are at a joint stage that requires crystallizing a national consensus to escalate the Palestinian reaction by activating the popular resistance with all its peaceful tools against the Israeli occupation and its policies."

He added, "Field activities and activities that create pressure elements from the international community should be started on Israel to stop the annexation plan and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue through comprehensive peaceful resistance."

Al-Rajoub called for the widest participation in popular movements to launch a comprehensive national insurrection until the Israeli annexation plan is completely and definitively overthrown and prevented from passing.
