Akif al-Masri, "Commissioner-General of the High Commission for Tribal Affairs in the Southern Provinces", called on the competent authorities to declare the Gaza Strip a "disaster zone" for health and humanitarian.
In a press statement, Al-Masri described the health and humanitarian situation as "catastrophic and has reached collapse."
Al-Masri said that the Corona pandemic caused major collapses and cracks in the sector, which has been mainly exhausted for 14 years as a result of the embargo, which has caused complete destruction of its economic and community structure.
He stressed that the residents of the Gaza Strip are unable to bear the consequences of the measures normally followed, to curb the mass outbreak of virus, as a result of the "severe shortage of medicines, supplies and medical devices".
He appealed to the international community, institutions, international organizations and the sponsors of peace in the world to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to end the worst and longest siege the world has ever seen.
He reiterated his call for the Palestinian Authority and the Government, headed by Dr. Mohammed Ashteh, to carry out their duties towards the Gaza Strip, and reiterated his call for international and Arab institutions to intervene urgently to save the population of the Gaza Strip.
