Putin and Rouhani discuss the issues of the nuclear agreement, Syria and "Covid-19"

 The Kremlin said in a statement that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani discussed the Iranian nuclear agreement, the situation in Syria and combating the new Corona virus (Covid-19), in a phone call today, Thursday.

The statement pointed out that Putin and Rouhani discussed in detail the various aspects of the implementation of the Iranian nuclear agreement.

Putin stressed that the agreement remains important in contributing to global stability and security.

Rouhani stressed Iran´s commitment to the agreement and its willingness to have equal and constructive interaction with all participants and within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and thanked Putin for his unwavering support to preserve and implement the nuclear agreement.

In exchanging views on the situation in Syria, Putin and Rouhani referred to the timely decisions taken at the tripartite electronic conference between the leaders of Russia, Turkey and Iran on the first of July.

In this context, the two sides expressed their willingness to push close coordination to achieve lasting peace and improve the humanitarian situation in Syria, according to the statement.

In addition, Putin and Rouhani shared with each other measures to combat the disease, and they agreed to continue to cooperate in fighting the new Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The two sides also touched on a number of major topics on the bilateral agenda, including the implementation of major joint projects in the energy sector, and they agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
