Peace Now: The Cabnet plan aims to strengthen the annexation of Area C to Israel

Israel´s left-wing Peace Now said Wednesday that the cabinet´s plan to approve the construction of 700 housing units for Palestinians in return for settlement expansion is aimed at strengthening the annexation of Area C and damaging the chance of establishing a Palestinian state.

According to a statement by the Israeli organization, this plan is a mockery of the Palestinian Authority. Stressing that it aims to strengthen the actual sovereignty through the implementation of planning measures in favor of the right of settlers and the purpose of the application of sovereignty.

The Palestinian population in Area C is estimated to be between 200 and 300,000. They need a larger number of these units, considering that the goal of promoting the building of the Palestinians before the Supreme Court and the International Monetary Fund under the international community´s attack on the Israeli government is to discourage Palestinian construction.

According to the Wala al-Abri site, for the first time, the so-called Civil Administration will plan the engineering of Palestinian homes that will be built there, which is a prelude to sovereignty over that area completely, by controlling the issuance of building permits and demolition according to Israeli interests.
