In a precededent not seen before, a German woman wave birth to her twin children by 97 days, becoming the first twins to be born in two different years.
The mother had her first baby in November 2018, in the 26th week of pregnancy, after the doctors felt that a caesarean section was needed to remove the fetus from the mother´s womb, to close the cervix and keep the other embryo.
On February 22, the mother was taken back to the hospital to have her second child. The two children became the first twins born on a 97-day basis.
The event was the first of its kind in the world of medicine, the officials of the Holweide hospital in Germany said. The largest interval was recorded in the birth of two twin children at different dates, 87 days.
