OCHA: The occupation demolishes and confiscates 89 buildings for Palestinians in two weeks

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OCHA) said that the occupation authorities demolished or confiscated 89 Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank during the past two weeks, under the pretext that they lacked building permits.

In the "Protection of Civilians" report, which covers the period between February 2 and 15, the office stated that the demolitions resulted in the displacement of 146 Palestinian citizens, including 83 children, and at least 330 others were damaged.

The report stated that two Palestinians were killed, one of them when an Israeli settler shot and killed a 34-year-old Palestinian near a settlement outpost recently established near the village of Ras Karkar (north of Ramallah).

The other was 25 years old, in the village of Nuba (west of Hebron), when an unexploded ordnance exploded, he found it near his house.

71 Palestinians were injured during this period, during clashes with Israeli forces in various parts of the West Bank, while Israeli forces carried out 186 search and arrest operations, and arrested 72 Palestinians in various parts of the West Bank, and the governorates of Jerusalem, Ramallah and Hebron recorded the highest number of these operations (28 Average process for each).

Attackers, known or believed to be Israeli settlers, wounded 4 Palestinians, including a child, and damaged an unknown number of vehicles.

In the Gaza Strip, the report indicated that Israeli forces fired warning shots on at least 28 occasions, near the border fence or off the coast of Gaza, under the pretext of imposing restrictions on access.

On 3 other occasions, Israeli forces bulldozed land near the fence.
