On Sunday morning, israeli occupation police provided protection to some 200 Jewish extremists as they stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and roamed its courtyards.
According to a reporter for the Palestine News Network, the occupation police opened the "Door of the Moroccans" from 7:30 a.m. (Jerusalem time) to dozens of settlers who desecrated al-Aqsa´s courtyards in the form of groups.
He noted that the occupation police and their special forces provided protection to Jewish extremists during the storming of al-Aqsa and walking around its courtyards to reach the "door of the chain", before exiting there.
According to the Islamic Waqf department in occupied Jerusalem, more than 194 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque today, heavily guarded by the Israeli occupation police.
She explained that the settlers broke into al-Aqsa´s courtyards from the moroccan shack and carried out provocative rounds before leaving the chain.
Our correspondent quoted eyewitnesses as saying that extremist settlers had performed prayers and public prayers in the eastern area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque overlooking the Dome of the Rock.
The sources continued: "Some of them performed prostration prayers disguised among their colleagues for fear of being prevented by the guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
On Saturday, the Hebrew media reported that nearly 900 "Israeli" settlers had desecrated the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem over the past week.
Since 2003, Israeli police have allowed settlers to storm the mosque through the Door of the Moroccans, all days of the week except on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, which is responsible for managing the mosque´s affairs, is demanding a halt to the incursions, but the Israeli police have not responded to the request.
The occupation police allow Jewish extremists to storm al-Aqsa on two periods, the first from 7:30 a.m. and lasting about 4 hours (morning) and the second starting after noon prayers and continuing for an hour and a half (evening).
Extremists usually break into al-Aqsa´s courtyards on the one hand and march on paths and organize lullaby tours inside it to the exit area of Bab al-Sa´idah, which is usually witnessed by provocations by Muslim worshippers and attacks.
