Users have reported the disappearance of old Watts Abe messages, predicting a mysterious flaw that affects only Android systems today.
Some users say these messages are too old, from 2015, but reports suggest messages from 2018 will also be affected.
It is not clear whether there is a logical reason for the disappearance of messages. In a response to the WABetaInfo tracking site, people said it was a rumor.
There are a sufficient number of people who complain about the disappearance of recent messages, indicating the possibility of a suspicious defect.
Once the Watts AAP messages are received, they are stored on the phone and not in the cloud. This means that messages that are deleted as a result of a defect can be lost forever.
For some users, Facebook´s chat-chat logs are a big and important part of their lives. Memories are shared with friends, or often romantic messages of value, in a way that was never possible through traditional texts.
It is difficult to tell whether this defect is temporary, or part of a new trend followed by WattsApp.
Earlier, Watts AG announced that it would begin deleting old messages unless backed up in Google Drive. The company concluded a deal with Google that allows Android users to store data for free.
However, there is a big problem with storing Watts messages in the cloud system. Once iCloud, Drive, or Google is used, the WattsAp encryption is removed from end to end.
At the same time, these systems provide their own encryption of stored data, with encryption keys controlled by those companies, so that users do not have complete control over them.
