The United Nations Coordinator for the Middle East peace process, Nikolai Mladenov, said on Thursday that urgent funding is needed to prevent the collapse of services in Gaza.
At the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, he added that Israel should ease restrictions on movement
Of the Palestinians, noting the continued efforts with neighbouring countries to stabilize the situation in Gaza.
"Israel´s use of live bullets is a matter of increasing concern to the United Nations," Mladenov said.
He stressed that the United Nations is working with the Palestinians and Israelis to provide financial support for reconstruction, demanding the launching of credible negotiations between the two sides.
