Microsoft plans to stop support for Windows 10 phones in December.
While in 2017, the company announced that it no longer developed new features or devices for the Windows 10 Mobile operating system, but continued to send security and software updates.
These security updates will expire on December 10, 2019, and devices will no longer be supported from that date.
"Version 1709 (released in October 2017) will be the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile, and Microsoft will fully support its support for this operating system on December 10, 2019."
Microsoft now recommends users to switch to other operating systems, Android or iOS. With the end of the Internet giant´s support for the Windows 10 Mobile operating system in December, the backup of the device for the settings and some applications will continue to work for 3 months until 10 March 2020.
Microsoft ended Windows Phone 8.1 support on July 11, 2017, so the end of Windows 10 Mobile support came as a surprise.
Microsoft is now focusing on creating applications and services for iOS and Android devices.
