Thailand´s King Maha Vajirongkorn, who will be officially crowned Saturday, has appointed his personal guardian and his new queen as queen.
"Soutida Vajerongkorn Na Ayodia, married by law of the 66-year-old King, is now Queen Sutida," Royal Gazette said Wednesday in the official Gazette.
Although it has been in the limelight for nearly three years, official information about it is few.
She is said to be 40 years old and previously served as a flight attendant for Thai Airlines.
She joined the palace guards in 2014 and was appointed commander of the king´s personal guard unit, currently a general.
Fajerongkorn, who was married three times before, became king after the death of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, in October 2016.
Thailand has been a constitutional monarchy since 1932, but the royal family still enjoys allegiance, power and wealth in the country, while the king protects from criticism, a set of the most stringent laws in the world.
