Violent clashes broke out on Friday afternoon in the village of Kafr Kaddoum after the weekly march began towards the closed entrance to the village, the main artery since 2003.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli soldiers fired gas, rubber and metal bullets at the youths and targeted water tanks over the houses with live bullets to puncture them in retaliation for the continuation of the weekly march, which entered its ninth year since July 1, 2011.
"The march started today in memory of the 72nd Nakba, and previous events were embodied, including the launch of kites last Tuesday bearing the names of prisoners and wounded and the cities of the interior of historic Palestine," said Mourad Shteiwi, coordinator of the weekly march.
Shtiwi said the occupation army used all its repressive means during the march today, but participants added the memory of the Nakba to the weekly march.
