Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir announced Wednesday that consultations between his country and Moscow in the Russian S-400 system are in place.
This came at a press conference in Moscow with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, on developments in the system and the discontinuation of consultations.
Jubeir said: "There are two things that we will not compromise. Our faith and our security, and the kingdom – as always, strives to provide the best defensive equipment to its armed forces to maintain the security and stability of the region, the kingdom and its people. "
"We are communicating, consulting, and buying defensive equipment from friendly countries, including Russia," he said.
"The consultations between Saudi and Russian officials regarding the defense system are being considered by the Kingdom and the list," he said, adding, "I do not want to comment on the details and leave it to the specialists."
