Johnson ignores controversy over his decision to suspend the work of the British parliament

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson ignored the controversy over his decision to suspend parliament while he was on a talk show to answer questions from the public via Twitter and Facebook.

Johnson defended the decision, but did not comment on the ruling of the Supreme Court of Scotland on Wednesday, which ruled that the suspension of the work of Parliament.

The British prime minister also did not comment on calls by opposition leaders to restart parliament activities.

"Parliament has so far failed to implement the will of the people," Johnson said after reading a question about whether his government was authoritarian and anti-democratic, referring to the 2016 Brexit referendum in which 52 percent voted to leave the bloc.

During a talk show aired on social media Twitter and Facebook, "The Public Questions to the Prime Minister," Johnson said Britain should leave the EU, with or without agreement, on October 31.
