Japan´s supermarkets are operating normally despite claims to stay at home

Most major supermarkets in Tokyo are operating normally, despite the residents ’demand to stay at home, to reduce infection due to the Corona virus, the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation said Saturday.

Today is Saturday, the first day since the Tokyo Governor requested that residents cancel unnecessary excursions at the end of the week. The appeal prompted residents to rush to stores earlier in the week, as shoppers stockpiled groceries.

On the other hand, many supermarkets and malls decided to close their doors today, Saturday and Sunday, as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus.

It is noteworthy that Japan recorded 2014 cases of corona, and 55 deaths.
