Israeli planes tried to attack a number of targets in and around Damascus, the official SANA news agency reported on Sunday.
The agency quoted a Syrian military source as saying that the air defense media were very efficient in dealing with an Israeli aerial attack targeting the southern region and preventing it from achieving any of its objectives.
Other Syrian sources said that three sites were bombed in the south of Syria in the area of Alkaswa. While other sources said that the bombing targeted an Iranian facility in that area without knowledge of the damage caused.
The Lebanese news website reported that the Israeli raid targeted the vicinity of Damascus airport and the southern area of the city with a number of rockets. Pointing out that a number of missiles exploded in the air while one of them was derailed.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights pointed out that the area targeted by the Israeli raid is the area of al-Kaswa south of Damascus and that Hezbollah is present there.
This comes at a time when the Israeli army announced that the iron dome of two missiles fired from the Syrian Golan to the northern Golan Heights under Israeli control was being addressed.
