JERUSALEM _ Palestine News Network
The Israeli occupation authorities, the residents of the Bedouin community of Al-khan Al-ahmar (east of jerusalem), on Monday gave notice of the levelling and settlement of a dirt road to facilitate the entry of Israeli vehicles and machinery in preparation for the evacuation and demolition of the Gathering.
Abdullah Abu rahmah, director general of the People´s Action and Resilience Support department in the "wall and settlement resistance authority", said that the occupation had handed the residents of the gathering a notice of bulldozing dirt roads, and gave them a week to challenge the Dangers.
In a press statement, Abu Rahma said the move was aimed at "instilling fear in the people of the Red Khan community."
The decision was made concurrently with the continuation of a sit-in by Palestinian and foreign supporters in Al-khan Al-ahmar for the 111 consecutive day, rejecting the Occupation´s decision to demolish the assembly and deport its residents.
On October 1, the deadline set by the occupation authorities for the residents of the rally to evacuate and demolish their homes has Expired.
On September 5, the Israeli Supreme Court rejected a petition against the evacuation and displacement of "al-kham" residents and admitted to demolishing it within a week. September
Al-khan Al-ahmar is home to some 200 palestinians, 53 percent of whom are children, and 95 percent are registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (unrwa).
The Israeli Supreme Court decided last May to demolish the gathering, which houses a school serving 170 students, from several other communities in the Area.
The village is surrounded by a number of settlements; its territory is located within the area targeted by the occupation authorities for the implementation of its E1 settlement project, which, if implemented, would undermine the chances of implementing the Two-state Solution.
