On Thursday, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and his army chief of staff, Aviv Kochavi, sent a warning message through France to direct a severe blow to Lebanon.
According to the Hebrew Ynet website, this came during the visit that took place Thursday to France and the meeting of Rivlin and Cochavi with French President Emmanuel Macron, and senior security and political officials, before they left the country and returned to Tel Aviv after a 3-day trip that included Germany and Austria.
According to the site, the two sides discussed "fighting anti-Semitism," the investigation in the International Criminal Court, as well as the Iranian file, and Hezbollah´s continued storage of advanced and accurate weapons and missiles with the support of Iran.
Rivlin and Kohavi said, "They will not allow Iran´s presence in Lebanon, as the Israeli army chief of staff provided security briefings and intelligence information about Iran´s consolidation of its position in Syria and Lebanon."
"We will not hesitate to attack Lebanon, and we will not tolerate any targets that contain weapons or infrastructure for Hezbollah, even if it is for the Lebanese state," Kochavi said, noting that Hezbollah is storing thousands of rockets and missiles and is trying to smuggle more and the Israeli army is making great efforts to prevent this.
Rivlin referred to the agreements signed with Arab countries, which he said: "They herald real hope for the peoples of the entire region," noting their importance in promoting peace, improving the economic situation and cooperation in order to bring prosperity and prosperity.
He added: "Such a vision, partnership and peace will only be achieved through a strong, extremist and aggressive line of opposition dictated by Iran through strengthening the nuclear program and its support for terrorist organizations, and we will not allow Iran´s positioning in Lebanon through Hezbollah. We do not have a regional conflict or war with the Lebanese people," We hope that our friends, including France, will continue to hold the Lebanese government accountable for terrorist activities in its territories. I sincerely hope that the winds of change that blow in our region will also translate into the Palestinian arena and enhance the restoration of confidence among our peoples. "
On the International Criminal Court, Rivlin said: "Israel will work to protect its citizens and soldiers from any threat," considering what happened by the United Nations human rights bodies, and what is currently happening from the International Court was due to political pressure.
He added, "Any attempt to bend the hand of Israel through international bodies is doomed to failure, and does not contribute in any way to pushing forward relations with the Palestinians."
For his part, Macron said: "France is very close to the Lebanese people and wants stability and peace, and I am confident that in the near future the situation in Lebanon will change," stressing the need to prevent the collapse of the country and encourage the formation of a new government.
Macron stressed that there is no alternative to political negotiations and recognition of everyone´s aspirations for security and sovereignty, noting that France supports all parties.
On the other hand, the Hebrew Risht Kan Channel reported, on Thursday evening, that Israel is concerned about the state of tension between Moscow and Washington, and the impact of this on its military activities in Syria.
According to the channel, the Israeli army mainly carries out its activities in coordination with the Russian and American armies, indicating that the differences may increase the sensitivity and complexity of the situation in the northern arena.
This comes in light of talk of US-Russian tension, against the background of the statements made by US President Joe Biden against his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, which caused a diplomatic crisis between the two countries.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi has visited Moscow a few days ago, and he said in statements to the Russian News Agency that Iran continues to increase the transfer of its own and advanced weapons in Syria, especially missiles, and that Israel will continue its attacks to prevent this.
