The lawyer of the French law professor at Sorbonne University Frank Romano, arrested by the Israeli occupation army for his participation in solidarity with residents of the village of al-Khan al-Ahmar against the occupation´s decision to demolish and deport them, announced that her client would be expelled from Israel.
Romano, a US-born French-American national, was arrested Friday after clashes between pro-Palestinian militants and Israeli occupation soldiers in the village of Khan al-Ahmar, where hundreds of Palestinians and foreign solidarity activists are protesting against the implementation Israel´s decision to demolish the village and deport its residents.
The Israeli Supreme Court last week approved the demolition of the tin-built village, which is located in the vicinity of several Israeli settlements in the Jordan Valley area, where some 200 Palestinians live.
"There is an administrative decision to expel him," said Gaby lanky, lawyer of Romano.
The Israeli occupation authorities accused Frank Romano of "obstructing the work of the Israeli police and soldiers," lawyer Lanky said Saturday.
Several European governments, the United Nations and non-governmental organizations have intervened to prevent the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar, arguing that the demolition would allow the expansion of Israeli settlements and the cutting of the West Bank into two parts, which would prevent the future establishment of a contiguous Palestinian state.
