Former US presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, should "respond to what he did," after being arrested in London.
The site has controversially published e-mails from Clinton´s Democratic Party, the impact of a pirate operation on the Russian government, and damaged Clinton during the 2016 presidential election.
"It is clear from the indictment that (the arrest) is about helping to penetrate a military computer to steal information from the US government," Clinton told a crowd in New York.
"The bottom line is that he has to answer what he did.
Assange is scheduled to stand trial again on May 2 for a hearing on a request from the United States for extradition.
