The Director-General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir Al-Bursh, confirmed that until now, “not a single piece of the aid that is being talked about entering the Gaza Strip has arrived.”
Al-Barsh explained that the aid enters the Rafah crossing and is transported to the Kafr Abu Salem crossing, where it is inspected by the occupation forces, then returns to Rafah before being distributed.
He stated that the aid entering Gaza “is throwing dust in the eyes and does not meet the needs,” stressing that more than 29 medical centers have gone out of service, as have many hospitals.
Regarding the situation of hospitals in Gaza, Al-Bersh said that what is happening in Gaza’s hospitals now constitutes war crimes, stressing that the power outage in the “department of premature infants will lead to their immediate death.”
Today, medical sources confirmed that electricity was cut off from the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza, and its vital facilities were disrupted, due to the depletion of fuel.
The occupation deliberately targets hospitals, health care centers and the surrounding areas, while it continues its threats to destroy hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
Limited aid
Earlier Monday, the media office in Gaza confirmed that “all the official statistics documented by government field crews are what they were able to access as the occupation bombing of the Strip continued,” and “large areas were unable to be reached due to the continued bombing.”
He also pointed out that the aid convoys entering the Gaza Strip are still below the minimum required by the catastrophic humanitarian situation, explaining that 34 trucks have entered, and 20 more are expected to enter today, which together constitute 10% of the rate of what was entering the Gaza Strip daily before the aggression.
He also stressed "the necessity of permanently opening the Rafah crossing, to bring in life supplies and humanitarian needs, especially fuel, and to remove the wounded and injured to receive treatment."
Two days ago, the director of an UNRWA shelter center, Muhammad Shweidah, explained that the northern Gaza Strip and Gaza City were excluded from the aid that would enter the Gaza Strip, explaining that UNRWA abandoned the northern and Gaza City areas and withdrew to the south.
In this context, UNRWA spokesman Adnan Abu Hasna told Al-Mayadeen that “Gaza needs 100 trucks per day to meet the needs of the displaced,” stressing the necessity of opening the Rafah crossing so that this number of trucks can enter the Strip.
This comes as the Gaza Strip, with the Israeli aggression continuing for the 18th day in a row, has reached a humanitarian crisis, in light of the power outage and the depletion of medical equipment, as the Palestinian Ministry of Health noted that surgical operations for the injured are being carried out without an anesthetic.
The government media office in Gaza announced that 5,087 Palestinians have died, and the number of wounded has risen to 15,273 citizens, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7. These numbers are in addition to the presence of more than 1,500 people missing under the rubble in Gaza, including 830 children.
