Today, Saturday, the Gaza municipality warned citizens not to swim at all in the city’s sea, after it was forced to pump untreated sewage into the sea starting today in light of the electricity crisis.
In a statement, the municipality stated that the electricity company informed it to stop supplying sewage pumping stations with electricity for 24 hours, as was the case during the past year, as a result of the sharp reduction in the supply of electricity.
It indicated that the electricity supply to the pumping stations will be limited to only 4 hours.
She said she was making every effort to try to stop pumping water into the sea and to find solutions.
