Paris announced on Wednesday the dissolution of the Turkish "Gray Wolves" group, two days after the French government imposed a ban on it.
The French government´s decision comes after the group was accused of defaming a monument honoring the victims of the Armenian genocide near Lyon with graffiti including the phrase "Gray Wolves" over the weekend.
"The latter incites discrimination and hatred and is involved in acts of violence," French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan said in a tweet that carried the announcement of the dissolution of the group.
The defamation of the monument and the banning of "gray wolves" coincided with intense tensions in France between the Armenian and Turkish communities over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
