The secretary general of the PLO´s executive committee, Saeb Erakat, on Friday rejected US proposals to resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by resettling them in Arab countries.
Erekat said during a political symposium in Jericho in the West Bank that the team (US President Donald Trump) is trying to work hard to settle the Palestinians in their places of refuge and places of refuge.
According to Trump´s plan, the Palestinian refugees´ host countries had been asked to settle 900,000 Palestinians in Arab countries, a figure that is equivalent to the number of Jews who emigrated to Israel after 1948.
"We will not allow resettlement and we will prevent attempts to set up committees for Palestinian refugees to settle, and we insist on resolving their case in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy," Erekat said.
And rejected "what is being promoted by the United States on the Palestinian leadership is isolated internationally and politically as a result of non-acceptance of American decisions against the Palestinian issue."
