Digital reading conference launched in eastern China

The sixth session of the Sixth China Digital Reading Conference, an industrial gathering, opened in Hangzhou, east China, on Thursday.

The annual conference, which is held online for the first time, provided viewers with resources from the 130 best museums in China, virtual reality technology libraries, as well as high-quality IP content.

The conference, jointly held by the China Video, Audio and Digital Publishing Association and local government departments in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is characterized by digital reading and fifth generation technologies.

This year’s conference also stressed China’s fight against new Coronavirus (Covid-19) and reading activities on this topic will be held.

In response to the association´s initiative, more than one million books and 400,000 audio clips, including content related to epidemic prevention and control measures and basic medical knowledge, have been provided free of charge to many digital reading platforms in China since the outbreak, and have gained more than 7.22 billion readings.

The conference is scheduled to last until April 30.
