Media reported today, Wednesday, the collapse of a bridge, which was being built by soldiers as part of a military training in the far east of Russia, wounding 18 people.
The media reported that the soldiers, members of the Russian railroad construction forces, were training to build infrastructure quickly for military purposes.
The Russian news agency TASS quoted a representative of the emergency services as saying that the injured were transferred to a military hospital in the nearby Khabarovsk region.
The agency said it believed the bridge, which was being built in the village of Tillman in the Jewish Autonomous Region in Russia, had collapsed due to a malfunction in safety equipment.
