China Mobile, one of the main telecommunications companies in China, has built more than 385,000 5G base stations across the country.
Dong Xin, general manager of China Mobile, said while attending a conference in Wuhan, capital of central China´s Hubei Province, that the stations provide 5G services to all cities at the state level and some major provinces in the country.
China Mobile has more than 130 million subscribers to 5G service packages, and the number of terminals connected to the 5G network has exceeded 90 million.
Dong added that the industrial Internet has become a "major battlefield" for 5G applications based on the experience of China Mobile, with 80 percent of 5G applications in range.
The number of 5G-connected terminals in China is expected to reach 200 million by the end of 2020, contributing more than 85 percent of the global total, according to a recent analysis by GSMA, an international association of mobile phone operators.
