Several cats have warned a sleeping population of a fire that broke out in a small house in a garden in the northern German port of Bremerhaven at midnight on Tuesday.
A spokesman for firefighting teams said on Wednesday that the cats meow so loudly that the three people who were sleeping in the house woke up.
All the animals and humans managed to escape safely outside, before the flames clogged the exit zone.
According to firefighters, the fire broke out at the entrance to the building and spread from there to the roof. The cause of the fire was not known yet.
