BMW calls 81 cars due to a safety defect

The State Administration of Market Regulation said that BMW decided to call 81 cars in China as of Friday, due to a defect in the gearbox wiring.

The authority added in a statement that the recall submitted by "BMW China Automobile Industry Co., Ltd." includes the "BMW M5" and "M8" models that were produced from January 29 to October 15, 2019.

The statement stated that there is an error in the gearbox of these cars, which may lead to a shortage in the circuit, and may amount to a loss of the ability to convert, which poses safety risks.

The company will repair the connection wires of the gearbox for defective cars for free.
