Billionaire businessman Richard Branson plans to make his first space flight with Virgin Galactic.
The British PA Media Agency reported that the owner of the Virgin Galactic company is scheduled to test the "private astronaut experience" during the next test flight, which begins on July 11.
Branson said it was an honor to be able to help "ensure his company delivers a unique customer experience."
Virgin Galactic got the green light to fly paid customers into space after its license was updated by the US Federal Aviation Administration earlier this month.
This month´s Unity 22 mission will be the 22nd test of the VSS Unity missile plane and the company´s fourth manned space flight.
Speaking ahead of his next spaceflight, “After more than 16 years of research, engineering and testing, Virgin Galactic stands at the forefront of a new commercial space industry, which is set to open the door to humanity and change the world forever.”
