An earthquake of 5.2 magnitude hits Costa Rica

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Sunday, the coastal city of Samara, in Costa Rica.

The Bloomberg News Agency, citing a statement from the US Geological Survey, said that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 44 km from the northwestern region of Costa Rica´s Samara, at a depth of about 50 km below the surface of the sea.

There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.
