Among them 18 children.. 1132 Administrative Detainees in Israeli Prisons

The Prisoners' Club stated that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to expand the scope of administrative detention - detention without charge or trial - targeting all categories, including women and children. According to the latest data issued by relevant institutions, the number of administrative detainees by the end of last June reached 1132, including 18 children and 3 female detainees.

The Club emphasized in a statement that these numbers have not been seen in 20 years. Until the end of last June, the occupation issued a total of 1608 administrative detention orders, including 813 new orders and 795 renewal orders. During the current month, dozens of administrative detention orders have been issued, mainly targeting former prisoners who have spent years in occupation prisons, and the practice has extended to a new generation, as the occupation authorities began targeting them.

The issue of administrative detention has been one of the prominent issues that witnessed significant changes over the past year, and during the current year. The Prisoners' Club has recently highlighted several cases of administrative detention amidst an unprecedented escalation compared to the past few years.

The Club affirmed that the occupation courts continue to solidify this crime, as they have historically done and continue to do through their mock trials.

The Prisoners' Club renewed its call for a reevaluation of dealing with the occupation's judicial system, especially in the case of administrative detention, noting that around 60 prisoners continue to boycott the occupation's courts as a continuous struggle against this crime.
