A man was stripped of his humanity and a young child was killed and his mother was injured on Monday at a train station in Frankfurt, Germany.
A German police spokeswoman said the witness´s testimony indicated that a 40-year-old Eritrean man had pushed an 8-year-old boy and his mother onto the tracks when the express train arrived, Reuters reported.
"The mother, Hamdallah, was able to save herself," the spokeswoman said.
"The man in question ... fled the station after the crime, followed him by passers-by and was arrested near the station."
She was being questioned, the mother of the child was taken to a hospital and questioned, and several berths in the Frankfurt train station were closed after the incident.
According to the police spokeswoman, she is not aware of any connection between the man and the victims, and the motive of the man is unclear.
