A horse tunneled on Saturday in a swimming lake in Germany after its rider was knocked out.
The fire department said in a statement that the owner was riding the horse on a lake in Papenburg, Lower Saxony.
And the knight was toppled from the horse in unclear circumstances.
The fire department said, "While the rider managed to reach safety on the bank of the lake, the horse disappeared under the water surface shortly afterwards and did not appear again."
The pedestrians reported to emergency services, who searched with a rescue boat, divers and sonar device for the horse. It was eventually found dead and pulled out of the water.
