A Generator shut down at Gaza power station

Gaza´s electricity distribution company reported Saturday evening that it had been informed that one out of three generators had stopped working at the gaza strip´s only power plant.

The company said: We have been informed by the Energy Authority of an emergency stop of one of the generators at the power plant, noting that contact is being made with the competent authorities in order to restart it and obtain previous amounts of electricity.

The company pointed to the low levels of electricity it receives from the power plant, as one of the generators stopped working.

The electricity distribution company was receiving 60 MW from the power plant before the generator stopped in hot weather, in addition to 120 MW from the Israeli side, while Egyptian Airlines has been suspended since March 2018.

The electricity distribution schedule, which was in place in the Gaza Strip before the generator stopped, was eight hours, compared to eight hours of separation.
