JERUSALEM _ Palestine News Network
On Tuesday morning, 80 Jewish settlers stormed the al-Aqsa mosque, accompanied by Israeli military forces, to secure their protection.
According to the information officer of the Islamic Waqf, Firas al-Debs, the Israeli police opened the "Bab al-Mughrabi" this morning and deployed their armed special forces between the squares to provide protection for the militants.
According to Al-Debs, 57 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque and wandered into its yards, and performed a ceremonial ritual at the "Bab al-Rahma".
During the same period, 23 Jewish yeshiva students stormed the mosque, accompanied by an Israeli occupation officer.
Yesterday, Israeli police summoned the guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Ahmed Damiri and Ghazi Asilah, to investigate them against the backdrop of the arrest and beating of a Palestinian citizen from the "Bab al-Rahma" area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Debs said the two guards were still in the investigation at the Israeli police station in the west of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
