The Palestinian Authority welcomes a Belgian decision that opposes the Israeli "annexation" decision

Today, Friday, the Palestinian Authority welcomed the adoption by the Belgian parliament of measures against the Israeli occupation plan, which included parts of the occupied West Bank.

"The decision of the Belgian parliament comes in the context of the escalation of the international response against Israeli annexation schemes, and indicates the formation of a broad international front that rejects it," Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said in a statement.

He added: "Every day we see signs of eroding support for Israel and the immunity it enjoyed for decades despite its continued violations."

Al-Maliki considered that the Belgian decision "is a clear indication that international courts, global civil society, parliaments and governments will not accept the Israeli annexation plan."

Earlier today, the Belgian parliament, with the support of 101 deputies and 39 abstentions, approved a resolution adopting measures against the "Israel" plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank to its sovereignty.

The decision demanded the Belgian government to take the initiative, to prevent "Tel Aviv" from implementing its plan to annex parts of the occupied Palestinian territory.

The region is witnessing a state of anticipation for "Israel" to announce its intention to annex the Jordan Valley area, the northern Dead Sea (on the border with Jordan) and parts of the occupied West Bank for its sovereignty in early July, amid warnings of the danger of this step.

In response, the Palestinian Authority announced, last month, that the Palestine Liberation Organization was in a state of agreements with "Israel" and the United States.

The "Al-Qassam Brigades", the military arm of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced on Thursday that "the Palestinian resistance considers the decision to annex Israel to large parts of the West Bank as a declaration of war on the Palestinian people."
