5.3 billion euros Germany exports of arms in the first half of 2019

The value of weapons that the German government allowed to export in the first half of this year reached 3.5 billion euros, more than the value of arms exports last year.

It is noteworthy that the value of arms exports in Germany has declined over the past three years continuously, and reached in 2018 to 4.8 billion euros only.

Hungary was at the head of the main importers of German arms in the first half of this year at 1.76 billion euros, and a large difference from the following countries, Egypt 801.8 million euros and South Korea with 277 million euros.

This came in response from the Ministry of Economy on the questioning of Omid Noribor, a member of the Green Party, has received the German news agency (DPA) a copy of the response.

The UAE was among the top ten importers of German weapons, ranking sixth with 206.1 billion euros.

The alliance between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Democratic Party of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea (DUP) agreed in March 2018 to assess exports to the countries directly involved in the Yemen war.
