Five children, including a 16-year-old pregnant woman, have died due to lightning in the country, the government said in Guinea.
In a statement yesterday evening, Thursday, the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection said that seven others were injured during a "violent thunderstorm" in Dabaula district, central Guinea.
The victims were taking part in baptism ceremonies ranging from two to 17 years old, according to the statement.
The ministry did not provide any other details.
Baptism ceremonies are often held outdoors in Guinea, under trees or on the shores of lakes
