OUAGADOUGOU, Aug. 23 (UPI) - An ambush on a convoy carrying employees of the Canadian mining company Semafo in Burkina Faso has killed 37 people and injured 60, the governor of the eastern region said in a statement.
The Canadian police had initially announced the death of "a number of dead and wounded." The governor said the "morning" attack was carried out by "gunmen" whose identities were not known.
