The Palestinian Prisoners of Rights Center monitored 360 cases of Israeli arrests of Palestinian civilians, including 4 women and 61 minor children, during April.

The Center for Human Rights said in a report on Wednesday that the occupation authorities continued during the past month arbitrary arrests of Palestinians against all segments.

The report documented 10 cases of arrests of citizens from the Gaza Strip, 9 of them passing through the separation fence east of the Gaza Strip, including 3 children from the southern Gaza Strip, one of what was shot.

At the Beit Hanoun-Erez checkpoint, Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian during his return to the Gaza Strip. He was accompanying his wife during a cancer treatment from the hospital in Jerusalem.

Last April, the Israeli occupation forces arrested Hassan Hassan Yousef, a 63-year-old member of the Legislative Council, after breaking into his house and searching for him, less than five months after he was discharged from his last detention.

The total of what he spent in the prisons of the occupation of 20 years, and he suffers from several chronic diseases including pressure and diabetes.

The Palestinian Studies pointed out that the occupation lasted last month to target women and children minors with arrest and summons.

He reported that the number of martyrs of the prisoner movement rose in April to 219 martyrs, after the death of the wounded prisoner Omar Awni Younis (20 years) from Qalqilya affected by the injury suffered a week ago.

Younis was shot directly at the Za´tara checkpoint, south of Nablus. He was seriously injured on the pretext of trying to carry out a stabbing. He was arrested and taken to the Belinson hospital. The Salem court extended his detention in absentia for a week before his death.

He pointed out that the prisoners failed during the past April, several steps of the struggle to protest against the continuation of the policy of reparation against them and to demand their fair rights

Hundreds of prisoners entered an open hunger strike (Karama 2 battle) since 7 April, coinciding with several sessions of dialogue with the prison administration and the Israeli Shin Bet security service.

Six prisoners in the Israeli prisons continue their open hunger strike in protest against their administrative detention. The oldest prisoner, Hossam al-Raza, 60, from Nablus, began his strike on 19 March.

Last month, the Israeli occupation courts issued 73 administrative detention orders, 18 of which were new (for the first time), most of them against released prisoners who were re-arrested.

The Center pointed out that 55 decisions to renew the detention periods of administrative prisoners for new times, ranging from two months to six months.

The occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention of the deputy in the Palestinian Legislative Council for the city of Hebron, Mohammed Ismail Tal (51 years), for the second time and for four months. Hamas leader Jamal Mohammed al-Tawil, 56, from Al-Bireh for the third time.
