14 sailors killed in fire in Russian submarine

Fourteen sailors died in a fire aboard a small Russian submarine designed for research on the marine environment and deep water at a military base in the northern city of Severomorsk, the defense ministry said.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that "14 sailors died as a result of poisoning" by inhaling the smoke from a fire on Monday. The sailors belong to the Russian army.
