Today, Sunday, the Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kailah, announced that 13 new cases of the British mutated mutation of the Coronavirus have been recorded in several areas in the West Bank, which brings the number of infections to 41.
Al-Kailah said in a press statement, that the new infections discovered were distributed in: Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate (3), the suburbs of Jerusalem (5), Bethlehem (4), and Hebron (1).
She explained that the symptoms appearing on those with the British mutation are almost the same as for the rest of those infected with the virus, stressing that the medical teams are closely following their condition.
She pointed out that there are other samples suspected of being infected with the new mutation, and they are still being examined in the Arab American University laboratories north of Ramallah, which includes a research team from the university and the Ministry of Health.
Al-Kaila indicated that the source of the British mutation infection is not known until now, while preventive medicine teams will work to track it.
