The United Nations calls on the occupation authorities to stop the demolition of Palestinian homes

The United Nations has called on the Israeli authorities to stop demolishing and appropriating Palestinian homes, and to fulfill its obligations as an occupying power under international humanitarian law.

The Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Farhan Haq, said during a press conference at the headquarters of the International Organization in New York, today, Thursday: “The Israeli forces dismantled and confiscated a residential building in Homsat al-Baqi’, north of the Jordan Valley, and on Wednesday, 84 Palestinians lost their homes in the town of Ras al-Tin, in the northern Jordan Valley.” Ramallah, when Israeli forces confiscated at least 49 buildings.

He added, "Palestinians reside in that area every summer to graze, but they are now at increased risk of forcible transfer from the area," adding that the United Nations has repeatedly called on Israel to stop demolishing and seizing Palestinian property, and to fulfill its obligations as an occupying power, under International humanitarian law.
