The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, said today, Wednesday, that the Israeli escalation in the Palestinian territories may constitute crimes, under the Rome Statute.
"I follow with great concern the escalation of violence in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as well as in and around Gaza, and possibly crimes that fall under the Rome Statute," Bensouda said in a tweet on Twitter.
Earlier, the International Criminal Court decided to open an investigation into Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians, with particular attention to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in 2014.
