OCHA: Palestinian killed and over 600 wounded by Israeli bullets

In the past two weeks, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian during a peaceful demonstration on the border fence in the Gaza Strip and injured more than 600 others in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territory, one Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire and 483 were injured during the period in demonstrations in the Gaza Strip since March 2018.

The UN report counted, at least 23 occasions, the Israeli authorities restricted access inside Gaza.

During this period, Israeli occupying forces conducted two incursions and bulldozing land near the fence and arrested four Palestinians for allegedly attempting to penetrate the fence. 

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces wounded 146 Palestinians in multiple clashes in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, according to the report.

He explained that most of the injuries (120) were in the area under Israeli control in the city of Hebron, "H2", when Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian houses on two occasions.

Eleven Palestinians were also injured during search and arrest operations in Tulkarm refugee camp, ´Anabta village in Tulkarm, Kafr Qaddum in Qalqilya, Abu Dis and Al´ Eizariya town, and the Issawiya neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.

According to the UN report, Israeli forces carried out 166 search and arrest operations in villages and towns in the West Bank, resulting in the arrest of some 150 Palestinians during the operations. 

One Palestinian was injured and serious property damage was recorded in attacks by Israeli settlers.

As for the demolition of houses, the Israeli occupation forces demolished eight Palestinian-owned buildings in Area C and East Jerusalem, including a water tank, on the grounds that there were no Israeli building permits.

The demolitions resulted in the displacement of 19 Palestinians, while some 700 Palestinians were affected by the demolition of a water tank in Tubas (north of occupied Jerusalem), which supplies five Palestinian Bedouin communities, in addition to the demolition of a mosque and a house under construction near Hebron.
