Ambassador Guo Wei, Director of the Office of the People´s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, stressed today, Tuesday, that the Palestinian cause is of interest to peace and stability in the Middle East and international justice and fairness.
 
This came in an interview with the Palestinian media about the outcomes of Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Qang´s visit to Egypt and the headquarters of the Arab League the day before yesterday, Sunday.
 
Guo Wei said, "Foreign Minister Gang stressed that the Palestinian issue is the core issue in the Middle East, and concerns peace and stability in the Middle East and international justice and fairness, and is of great concern to China."
 
He added, “Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeatedly put forward initiatives to resolve the Palestinian issue, stressing that the historical injustice that the Palestinian people suffer from cannot continue indefinitely, and it is not permissible to compromise on legitimate national rights, just as the aspirations for establishing an independent state cannot be rejected.” He 
 
called on the international community to consolidate faith in the vision of the "two-state solution", firmly adhere to the principle of "land for peace", and work steadily to make commendable efforts to advance peace negotiations, increase humanitarian aid and development for Palestine, and push for a just and urgent solution to the Palestinian cause.
 
He pointed out that the situation has been tense between Palestine and Israel recently, pointing out that China is very concerned about this, and calls on the concerned parties to adhere to international consensus and United Nations resolutions related to the Palestinian issue and to preserve the historical status quo of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
 
He stressed the need to exercise restraint and calm in order to avoid further escalation of tensions, calling on Israel to stop incitements and provocations in order to avoid any unilateral move that might lead to an exacerbation of the situation.
 
He pointed out that on January 5, China effectively responded to the reasonable demands of Palestinian and Arab friends, supported the UN Security Council in launching its emergency session on the Palestinian issue, and pushed for the UN Security Council to play its due role in the Palestinian issue. 
 
Guo Wei explained that the escalation of the Israeli and Palestinian situation resulted from the halt in peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine and the delay in achieving the "two-state solution." 
 
He called on the international community to have a stronger sense of the urgency of the Palestinian cause, and push the two sides to resume peace negotiations and resolve the issue of Jerusalem and all final status issues.
He also called on the international community to support finding a just, lasting and early solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, calling on the major countries with influence to shoulder responsibility in order to reach those desired goals. 
 
On China´s policy towards the Middle East in light of the new situation, Guo Wei said that Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang stressed the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern countries.
 
He stressed the need to encourage the countries of the region to find solutions to hot issues that are appropriate to the regional reality, take into account the interests of all parties, and are acceptable to all parties through dialogue and consultation. 
 
He pointed out that China calls for providing more development support to the countries of the region, to help them meet the challenges of food and energy security, and to lay a solid foundation for regional development. Joint efforts must be made to combat terrorism and prevent the spread of terrorist and extremist forces that exploit chaos. 
 
He added that China calls on countries outside the region to respect the sovereignty of Middle Eastern countries, not to interfere in their internal affairs, to practice true pluralism, to refrain from unilateral bullying and creating conflicts, to respect the history and cultural traditions of the Middle East, to refrain from creating cultural differences, and to inject positive energy into regional security and stability.
 
He affirmed that China has always supported the peoples of the Middle East in exploring development paths with their independent will and supported the Middle East countries in resolving regional security issues through cooperation and coordination, noting that China and the Middle East countries are making joint efforts to jointly build the "Belt and Road" and implement the global development initiative in pursuit of development. And the renaissance.
 
He stressed that China is pushing forward the implementation of the Global Security Initiative, and calls for the establishment of a new common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security architecture in the Middle East, which contributes Chinese wisdom and solutions to the political settlement of regional hotspot. issues.
 
On the implementation of the outputs of the first Chinese-Arab summit on the ground in the next stage, Guo Wei said that Foreign Minister Gang stressed the consecration of the spirit of Sino-Arab friendship represented in "solidarity, synergy, equality, mutual benefit." , inclusiveness and mutual benefit.”
 
He stressed the need to uphold independence, focus on economic development, preserve peace in the region, promote civilizational exchange, make strong progress in building a Chinese-Arab community for a common future, and make positive contributions to building a community with a shared future. for humanity. 
 
He pointed out that China calls for devoting the spirit of the Riyadh Declaration, which affirms work to preserve the international order based on international law, multilateral action, and the dedication of common values ​​of humanity represented in peace, development, fairness, justice , democracy and freedom, and the rejection of politicizing human rights issues and using them as a tool to exert pressure on countries and interfere in their internal affairs.
 
It also affirms adherence to the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, strengthening efforts to combat terrorism, rejecting "double standards" in combating terrorism, promoting dialogue among civilizations, preserving global civilizational diversity, and rejecting the theory of the clash of civilizations. 
 
The declaration stresses the need for the Chinese and Arab sides to adhere to the spirit of the Riyadh Declaration, to defend international fairness and justice, and to protect the common interests of developing countries.
 
Guo Wei noted that China advocates more results for pragmatic cooperation. The "outline of comprehensive cooperation plan between China and Arab countries" covers 182 cooperation measures in 18 fields, including politics, trade, economy, investment and finance. 
 
The "eight joint actions" of practical cooperation between China and the Arab countries announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping also cover 56 cooperation measures in eight areas, including promoting development, food security, health, green development, innovation, energy security, dialogue among civilizations , youth rehabilitation, security and stability, and meeting the development needs and concerns of the Arab side. 
 
He said that China will establish an effective working mechanism with Arab countries to implement the mentioned cooperation measures one by one, and accelerate mature cooperation projects for development in order to achieve more early harvest.
