Suffocation injuries during the occupation army´s suppression of the weekly Kafr Qaddum march

Dozens of citizens were suffocated during the occupation army’s suppression of the weekly Kafr Qaddum march denouncing the settlement and demanding the opening of the village street, which has been closed for more than 17 years, in favor of the Qadumim settlement, which was forcibly established on the lands of the village.

The coordinator of the weekly march, Murad Shteiwi, stated that the occupation soldiers attacked the participants in the march with tear gas and sponge bullets, which resulted in dozens of suffocation cases being treated in the field.

Shteiwi pointed out that the occupation soldiers stormed the village and occupied the roofs of the citizens´ homes and set up multiple ambushes in deserted houses with the aim of arresting the youths without recording any cases of arrest, stressing that violent confrontations broke out in which the youths used stones and burned dozens of rubber tires near the gate that closes the street.

Shteiwi called on international organizations to intervene to protect the homeowners, which are always being stormed by the occupation army to use as military barracks for their snipers after their residents are detained in one room at gunpoint.

The march began with the participation of hundreds of townspeople, after performing the Friday prayers from Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque towards the closed street chanting national slogans calling for escalation of popular resistance everywhere.
