5 new settlement plans consuming 650 dunums of Qalqilya and Salfit lands

The Israeli occupation authorities are racing to confiscate more land, where they were notified of the confiscation of 650 dunums of land in the town of Deir Estia, northwest of Salfit, and the towns and villages of Ematin, Azzun, Alessa, Kafr Laqaf, and Jinsafout in Qalqilya governorate, in order to implement five settlement plans announced by the occupation authorities this month.
"Two days ago, the occupying forces were notified of the confiscation of some 600 dunums of land in Deir Estia, adjacent to the settlements of Amanawil and Qarni Shamrun, including 350 dunums in favour of the expansion of an industrial zone in the Settlement of Amonael, and 250 dunums in favour of the construction of settlement housing units in the Settlement of Qarni Shamron," said Deir Estia mayor Said Zidan.
Zidan said the occupying forces had given residents to oppose the plans for two months and announced the change of land names from agricultural land to industrial, residential, commercial, industrial and public facilities.
"The occupying forces announced five plans this month to build 2,400 settlement units in the settlements of Qarni Shamrun and Alfi Mensheh, located on the land of my province," said Mohammed Abu Al-Sheikh, head of the settlement file in Qalqilya province. Salfit and Qalqilya, in addition to the expansion of the industrial zone in the settlement of "Emmanuel", which will devour land from the town of Deir Estia," he pointed out that about 50 dunums covered by the settlement expansion plans will be from five villages and towns in Salfit governorate.
The settlement of "Emmanuel" was established on the land of the town of Deir Estia in Salfit and Amatin in Qalqilya, while the settlement of "Alfie Menche" is located on the land of the villages of Azzun and Aysel in Qalqilya, while the settlement of "Qarnae Shamron" is located on the land of the towns and villages of Kafr Laqaf, Deir Estia and Jinsafout.
