Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin stressed on Saturday the importance of a two-state negotiated solution to the Palestinian issue, calling on the world to pay attention to the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
"The only viable path is the two-state solution," Mohieddin said in a speech to the general discussions of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He added that "annexation is illegal," and "seizing any land by war or by force is not permitted and illegal."
The Malaysian Prime Minister called on Israel to "restore its credibility and return to the negotiating table with the Palestinians."
He said, "Malaysia supports the call of the international community, including the Secretary-General of the United Nations, to the Quartet of the Middle East to find a path acceptable to the two parties to re-engage for a peaceful, negotiated settlement."
It is noteworthy that the two-state solution is widely considered a way to solve the decades-old Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
